The 1962 DeVille was basically a toned-down '61 with GM settling into a styling groove. Rear fins were now lower and less extravagant, a tamer grilled, and backup/turn/stop lights combined behind a single white lens for a cleaner look.

The 1961 DeVille was restyled and re-engineered for 1961. The new grille slanted back towards the bumper and hood with the mesh being split by a sold piece of chrome. Quad headlights finished off the outsides of the grille.

The 1958 DeVille was basically a carryover from '57, but with a facelift. The new grille featured multiple round "cleats" at the intersection of horizontal and vertical members.

The 1960 DeVille displayed a smoother, more subtle rendition of the styling introduced the previous year.

The 1957 DeVille experienced another power increase to 300 hp courtesy of raising compression to 10:1. Cadillac adopted a tubular X-frame in '57 that greatly strengthened structural rigidity.

The 1965 DeVille ushered in its fourth generation that included new styling like the loss of its elevated fins that were planed flat, and sharp, distinct body lines replaced the rounded look.

The big news for 1956 was the introduction of Cadillac's first four-door hardtop Sedan DeVille, which immediately scored almost as many sales as the Coupe DeVille and standard 62 hardtop combined.

The 1966 DeVille received a mild facelift that included a somewhat coarser mesh for the radiator grille insert, which was now divided by a thick, bright metal horizontal center bar housing rectangular parking lamps at its outer ends. There was generally less chrome on all Cadillac models this year.

While no major appearance changes occurred to the 1955 DeVille, a number of refinements were apparent.

The 1954 DeVilles had lower, sleeker bodies, new cellular grille insert, inverter gull-wing front bumpers, and tapered dagmar style bumper guards. Coupe DeVille scripts were seen on the rear corner pillars of the luxury hardtop, which also had wider sill moldings.

The 1953 DeVille's styling changed subtly with a "Coupe DeVile" roof pillar script that was seen again on this luxury hardtop. The 1953 Cadillacs saw yet another power bump up from 190 hp to a now impressive 210 hp. One of the fastest cars on the road for that day.
