The engine has been turbocharged and paired with a Wavetrac limited-slip transmission, resulting in an output reportedly reaching 550 horsepower.

The exterior features a Porsche 356 Outlaw-style replica body fitted with details such as billet alloy hinges and handles, plastic wheel-arch liners, and leather clubman seats mounted on custom rails.

Although largely complete, the car still requires several finishing touches before it can return to the road, including installation of window glass, a rear screen, and an engine cover. The Pinzgauer 710M belongs to the first generation of off-road military vehicles developed by Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria. Production began in 1971, with the 710 series representing the light-duty four-wheel-drive variant designed for roles such as troop transport, communications support and general military utility.

Engineering played a major role in the vehicle’s reputation. The 710M was built around a central tube chassis and powered by a 2.5-liter air-cooled inline-four engine equipped with dual Zenith carburetors. Power is delivered through a fully synchronized five-speed manual transmission connected to a two-speed transfer case.

The drivetrain also includes locking front and rear differentials designed to maximize traction in difficult terrain. From the original El Camino driven by Jesse Pinkman in "Breaking Bad" to Frank Sinatra's RV, The Velvet Collection has a terrific selection of famed vehicles from pop culture. For this reason, tourists from across the world come to see these insane cars that serve as a physical relic of history.

Titled “A Fast & Furious Legacy: 25 Years of Automotive Icons,” the show will run through April of next year and feature screen-used cars that helped turn the action franchise into a global phenomenon. Since debuting on June 22, 2001, the series has expanded to 10 films and a spin-off, generating $7 billion worldwide and becoming one of Hollywood’s most successful properties.

At the heart of the exhibit are two of the franchise’s most celebrated machines: Brian O’Connor’s 1994 Toyota A80 Supra and Dom Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. The Supra, stunt car number three from the original film, wears its distinctive Lamborghini Diablo Candy Pearl Orange paint. The Charger, prominently featured in the fourth installment, appears in its familiar glossy black finish with chrome accents.

Beyond those headliners, the exhibition will highlight several other vehicles that defined the franchise’s street racing roots. Among them are the 1990 Nissan 240SX driven by Michelle Rodriguez’s character Letty Ortiz in the first film, the green 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS from the same movie, and the pink Honda S2000 featured in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

The Fast & Furious films blended modified imports, American muscle and high-speed action with themes of loyalty and camaraderie, helping inspire a generation of automotive enthusiasts. The Petersen’s collaboration with Universal aims to celebrate both the cinematic impact and the real-world car culture the franchise helped popularize.

To coincide with the exhibition’s opening, the museum will host a car show in its multi-level parking garage, offering fans an opportunity to gather and showcase their own vehicles. For moviegoers and car enthusiasts alike, the exhibit provides a rare chance to see some of modern film history’s most memorable machines in person.

The package is designed for street-legal M2 models and targets drivers who want improved performance during track sessions while retaining road compliance. Central to the kit are aerodynamic components that increase downforce to sharpen handling and improve lap times.

At the front, an adjustable splitter works in conjunction with a front diffuser and wheel arch diffusers to generate additional front-end grip. At the rear, a newly developed wing adds further downforce. The wing features two positions: a Race Mode that extends the wing rearward by 50 millimeters for maximum aerodynamic effect, and a Street Mode that returns it to its standard position to meet German road regulations.

Beyond the aerodynamic changes, the kit includes a threaded suspension system with four-way adjustable rebound and compression damping. Adjustable support bearings are also part of the setup. BMW describes the damper system as a motorsport-derived configuration that remains road-legal. Ride height can be lowered by up to 20 millimeters at both the front and rear, with continuously variable adjustment.

BMW developed the kit specifically for the M2 and subjected it to extensive wind tunnel testing. Fine-tuning was overseen by Jörg Weidinger, an engineer known for record-setting Nürburgring runs, ensuring the components function cohesively with the vehicle’s dynamics.

While most buyers are unlikely to pursue record laps, the integrated design offers a factory-engineered alternative to aftermarket solutions. The cohesive styling and plug-and-play nature of the components maintain the M2’s visual identity while signaling a focus on track performance.

The M Performance Track Kit is scheduled to go on sale in July in Germany, priced at 23,500 euros, or roughly $27,500. Installation costs are additional, and availability will be limited to the German market.
