Corvette Dreams 87 Years In The Making Come True

A Washington man said little red C8 Corvette was well worth the wait.

We all that dream car we hope to own one day, and some of us are fortunate enough to own it. However, that’s usually not the case - financials, school, jobs, marriage, kids, it goes on when it comes to priorities that come ahead of owning the car you buy automotive magazines just to see. For one Vallyford, WA resident, Vern Eden, his lifelong dreams of owning a little red Corvette came true.

According to The Spokane Review, 87 year old Vern Eden wanted a Corvette for a long time, but was waiting for Chevy to get it right. When GM produced the eight generation of the Chevy Corvette, he appreciated the balance and knew it was time to pounce on one.

After deciding to jump on the chance to own the ‘perfect’ Corvette, Eden ordered his Corvette, a year and a half ago. He also said that he wanted to get a Corvette before the model was turned into an electric vehicle. Little did he know when ordering that the pandemic, strikes, shutdowns, labor shortages, and now chip shortages would push the delivery date so long.

Like many do when buying their Corvette, Eden planned to go to the Bowling Green, KY factory to pick the Corvette up in person. However, they are not currently offering their famous factory tours, so picking it up was scaled back to just settling for picking it up from the dealership he ordered it from. On the way back, Eden and his son took turns driving it home.

What's next for the new Vette owner? He's looking for a place to open it up and experience the full potential of the potent Corvette.
