Pit Crew Racing Miata Is Quintessence Of Sports Car Aesthetic

This particularly rare bodykit transforms the unassuming Miata into a Ginetta-esque sports car God

Celebrating its 30th birthday, the MX-5 Miata has left a legacy most can only dream of. The humble sports car from Japan was always a looker, especially with the originals pop up headlights.

The car featured here, offered by J Spec Auto, is a far rarer beast. Some discerning readers may instantly recognise this squat little weapon, however others may see aspects of Ferrari 250 GTO thrown in with a smidge of Ginetta.

Due to the Miata’s instant hit status, companies in Japan came up with one of the biggest aftermarket scenes for a car in history. The catalogue of parts awaiting the MX-5 owner has to be seen to be believed.

A company called Pit Crew Racing came up with this, a body kit that likely transforms this little Mazda further from its original design more than any kit on the planet. It also manages to do it with the utmost finesse. Just look at it!

Now particularly rare, these kits were in fact loosely based on inspiration from the Ginetta G4 sports car of the sixties. Unlike most body kits that make you think of the Fast And Furious franchise, this one is somehow perfect.

The Pit Crew Racing front end is complemented by a matching rear, that continues the sixties sports car theme to perfection. A matching exhaust is fitted too, along with an adjustable spoiler and Tein coilovers for good measure.

Look under the hood and the car is just as it left the factory, with no rowdy modifications to put the famous reliability into question, or rather a clean slate for you to add your own build.

With 86,000 miles on the odometer, there are many more adventures awaiting this little beast, and for just $9495 we think it’s a bit of a bargain.
