Previously featured on a once popular television show, this classic Charger is looking for a new home.
On the Nationally aired television show, Overhaulin', Chip Foose built a 1967 Dodge Charger for the annual Las Vegas SEMA show, which is now for sale on eBay. The ever so popular car customizer’s vision for the car was to retain the Chargers original body lines while tastefully giving it an aggressive and modern appearance. A vision that would require a plethora of one of a kind components, including custom alloy wheels, custom headers, a custom interior, and of course a custom Foose fade paint job to name a few. Making this build even more interesting, the paint job was done in a custom built paint booth at that years SEMA show.
Keeping only the rear end stock, the 426ci Hemi Crate motor powered Charger received a Serpentine Belt Assembly, heavy duty radiator with polished aluminum overflow, Gear Vendor overdrive system, Cobra front bucket and individual rear seats with custom red and black upholstery, Vintage AC, and a 1400 Watt audio system.
With the exterior featuring hideaway front headlights, chrome front and rear bumpers, and a professional paint job applied by one of the most popular auto painters in the country, the outcome was something so truly unique that the Revell Model company immortalized this car with a model. In fact, a model that has been marketed around the world.
The Foose special 1967 Dodge Charger previously sold at Barrett-Jackson in 2017 for $121,000 including buyer commission and is now up for bids on eBay for a Buy It Now price of $149,950 with only 455 miles on the clock and a clean California title. With a little over 5 days left to bid and offers yet to start, it will be interesting to watch this post play out.
Whether or not the Foose name will add, or takeaway, value from this car is all in the eye of the beholder. While there are plenty fans of his work, Chip Foose seems to have a bit of controversy following him when it comes to his work, especially as it pertains to classic cars. For some, his work adds tremendous value to the cars, but to purists, the extreme makeovers are pure murder.
