1963 Ford Falcon Futura Restomod Makes For A Potent Sleeper

Who’s going to think a Falcon is fast at all?

You might not think of a Falcon as some sort of powerhouse, but this 1963 Ford Falcon Futura Restomod hops up the compact coupe with a fuel-injected V8. It also features suspension upgrades and some other nice additions, turning this car into a cool sleeper.

The best way to make a little car deceptively potent is to drop a big engine under the hood. This Falcon packs a 289ci V8, which is far larger than anything Ford offered for it back in the day. Thanks to FiTech fuel injection, a Weiand Street Warrior intake, and a dual H-pipe exhaust, maximum power is being tapped from that V8. So you don’t need to worry about overheating, a Champion aluminum radiator with an electric fan is also included. To help you harness all that power, tighter handling comes with strong tubular A-arms in the front, plus coilovers and a four-link rear setup. Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes certainly help as well.

A hot restomod needs cool vintage paint, and Glacier Blue fills that role perfectly. Shiny details like the dual bombsight fender ornaments, window trim, and bumpers add the right contrast. In true early 1960s fashion, afterburner taillights and large dual exhaust tips make a strong statement when you leave everyone else in your dust.

Climb inside and you get to sit on two-tone dark and light blue vinyl bucket seats with a center console between. To help modern riders really enjoy using this ride, upgrades like a cupholder extension for the center console, modern gauges with digital readouts, and a retro-looking AM/FM digital stereo with auxiliary input have been added.

Ford made the Falcon from 1960 to 1970 in three generations. 1963 was the final model year for the first generation, with the Futura becoming a premium trim. One of the signature styling tweaks was a side spear trim that ended in a large arrowhead on the front fender.
