Cadillac adopted a tubular X-frame in '57 that greatly strengthened structural rigidity.

The front was restyled with a rubber bumper guard tips and dual, circular parking lamps set into the lower bumper section. Side trim was revised and a dual taillight theme was used. Both the Coupe and Sedans had special nameplates on the front fenders. Pointed "shark"-style fins made these some of the most recognizable cars on the road.

Sales suffered from the previous year. The Coupe lost approx. 2,000, while the Sedan saw a bigger loss of over 18,000!
