A rare piece of Hollywood and automotive history is heading to auction as Bonhams prepares to sell Paul Walker’s 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII from 2 Fast 2 Furious. The car headlines the Bonhams Movie Car Collection sale, taking place November 21–28 in Paris and online, with bidding expected to draw intense competition from both film fans and collectors.
The collection, sourced from the Movie Cars Central Museum in France, includes eight famous vehicles that have appeared on screen. The Lancer Evo stands out as the star of the lineup—not only because of its role in the Fast & Furious franchise but also because it’s the first of four stunt cars used during filming. Built by automotive consultant Craig Lieberman, the car’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine was tuned to deliver around 330 horsepower, up from the factory’s 280.
The Evo remains fully operational and carries documentation confirming its film use and provenance. Offered with no reserve, Bonhams estimates it will fetch between $290,000 and $580,000. However, with the car titled in Norway, international buyers may face additional import duties and taxes.
For those with smaller budgets, the auction lineup includes several other recognizable movie cars. Among them are the 1970 Dodge Charger from Fast & Furious 7, the 1986 Buick Grand National from Fast & Furious 4, and the 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 featured in John Wick 2, one of only five built for production.
Rounding out the collection are the 1999 Peugeot 406 V6 from Taxi 2, the 1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria used in Men in Black, Gene Winfield’s futuristic police cruiser from Back to the Future Part II, and even a 1989 Batmobile from the Batman Stunt Show.
