The hybrid Corvette E-Ray marks its first official U.K. appearance at Goodwood, blending American power with electric innovation.
The Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray made its highly anticipated United Kingdom debut this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, introducing British audiences to the most advanced Corvette in the nameplate’s 71-year history.
Chevrolet’s E-Ray is the first-ever hybrid production Corvette and the first to feature all-wheel drive, making it a technical milestone in the evolution of America’s iconic sports car. This appearance also signals the start of right-hand-drive availability for the U.K. market, with customer deliveries expected to begin in September 2025.
Unveiled in the heart of West Sussex at the legendary motorsport celebration, the E-Ray stunned onlookers as it roared up the Goodwood hill climb, showcasing its unique combination of electric assistance and V8 muscle. Under the hood lies a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine delivering 495 horsepower to the rear wheels, while an electric motor mounted on the front axle contributes an additional 160 horsepower. Together, the system produces a total of 655 horsepower, enabling blistering acceleration and improved traction in all conditions.
Unlike its track-focused sibling, the Z06, the E-Ray balances performance with all-season usability. Its hybrid system offers stealthy, all-electric operation at low speeds while preserving the visceral power delivery that Corvette fans expect.
The debut also marks a broader strategy by General Motors to globalize the Corvette brand, particularly in regions where right-hand-drive availability is essential. The E-Ray’s Goodwood run was more than just a show — it was a statement that Chevrolet’s most iconic car is entering a new era on the global stage.
With its mid-engine layout, hybrid technology, and all-wheel drive, the E-Ray brings Corvette into supercar territory — and British roads will soon experience the difference firsthand.
