Exomod’s carbon-bodied ’68 Charger restomod blends classic design with modern Challenger tech, delivering 1,000 horsepower and cutting-edge performance.
A Pennsylvania builder has transformed a modern muscle car into a retro-inspired monster. Exomod’s latest creation, a 1968 Dodge Charger restomod finished in carbon fiber, is currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer, combining iconic design with 21st-century performance.

The Greenville-based company specializes in grafting second-generation Charger bodies onto modern Dodge Challenger platforms. This particular build began life as a 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, which donated its supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 and eight-speed automatic transmission. From there, Exomod fitted a full carbon-fiber body styled after the legendary ’68 Charger, widening the shell by about four inches and tweaking proportions to match the newer chassis.
Beneath its candy apple red finish—designed to highlight the weave of the carbon fiber—the Charger packs serious power. The engine was treated to Hennessey’s H1000 package, pushing output to 1,000 horsepower and 948 pound-feet of torque. Supporting upgrades include a high-flow induction system, revised exhaust components, and a custom tune, giving this restomod track-worthy performance while retaining road manners.
While the exterior pays homage to the past, the interior is pure modern Challenger. Black leather seating, digital controls, and comfort features like air conditioning and infotainment ensure the car is as livable as it is fast. Safety and drivability benefit from four-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension, ABS, and traction control—all features unimaginable in 1968.

Exomod has only produced 11 of these C68 Carbon models to date, and this example gained attention at the SEMA show and as a Hennessey Showcase vehicle in 2024. At the time of writing, bidding sits in the mid-$20,000s, though prices are expected to climb sharply as the auction closes.
For enthusiasts seeking a fusion of classic styling and modern firepower, this Charger may be the ultimate restomod.
