Alpine Reveals A110 FUTURE Prototype Ahead of Goodwood Festival of Speed

Alpine has pulled back the wraps, partially at least, on the next chapter of one of France's most beloved sports cars. The brand confirmed it will run a heavily disguised development mule for the third-generation A110, nicknamed A110 FUTURE, every day of the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which takes place July 9 through 12 in England.

This isn't a static show piece. The mule is a running engineering test bed built to prove out the hardware that will underpin the next A110, which Alpine says will be the first genuine all-electric sports car engineered without compromising the driving character the nameplate is known for. That car will ride on a dedicated EV architecture called the Alpine Performance Platform, rather than a repurposed hatchback skateboard.

The platform pairs an aluminum-intensive structure with two battery packs arranged to preserve the front-to-rear weight balance that has defined the current Alpine A110. Alpine is using 800-volt cell-to-pack battery technology to trim weight and shorten charging stops, while a dual-motor rear e-axle bundles the motors, reduction gearing, and a silicon-carbide inverter into a single housing for sharper throttle response. Full aluminum suspension along with integrated braking and steering systems round out the mechanical package.

The A110 FUTURE will headline what Alpine calls its biggest-ever presence at Goodwood, sharing the hill and the stand with the current-generation A110 lineup, the A290 hot hatch, and the A390 fastback. Thursday, July 9 brings a dedicated "Alpine Moment," pairing the FUTURE mule with historic A110 rally and Le Mans cars in a brand parade, capped by a demonstration run from the team's E20 Formula 1 car.

Alpine's Formula 1 stars Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto will be on hand alongside academy and reserve drivers Nina Gademan, Paul Aron, and Alex Dunne, with simulators, driver talks, autograph sessions, and DJ sets planned at the stand throughout the four-day event.

First run in 1993, the Goodwood Festival of Speed remains the largest gathering of its kind, drawing more than 600 cars and motorcycles up the hill each year. Using that stage to preview A110 FUTURE shows how seriously Alpine is treating the shift to electric power for a car whose analog feel has long been central to its appeal, a challenge other manufacturers are also wrestling with as they chase their own electric sports car ambitions.
