A solid vintage project truck up for grabs
Unless you’re living under a rock without internet access or television, most car nuts have heard of the television show Fast N’ Loud on the Discovery channel starring Richard Rawlings. Rawlings is also the owner of Gas Monkey Garage.
This 1969 Ford F100 4x4 with a short wide bed was slated as a project on Gas Monkey Garage, but due to a hectic filming schedule and no time build it, this project truck is now for up for grabs. This vintage truck rolled off the assembly line at the San Jose plant in January of 1969 equipped with a 360cui V8 engine and four-speed manual transmission. Manual locking hubs are present but are completely untested. While the engine is still in place, it does not run so the truck will need to be towed, shipped, or trailered from the Gas Monkey shop in Dallas, Texas. Due to the filming schedule, no additional work will be performed to the truck, and it will need to be inspected to determine completeness.
Exterior-wise, the truck has a fairly solid body besides some minor superficial rust and a few dents. Although, this truck looks cool as is with its naturally earned patina. Inside, the interior is mostly complete but should be easy enough to restore or upgrade. The underside photos reveal a solid chassis with minimal rust on most components.
