A remarkably preserved 2009 Honda S2000 Club Racer is generating strong interest at auction, with bidding already exceeding $82,000 and several days remaining. The car is one of roughly 700 CR models built for the U.S. market and stands out further as one of just 31 finished in Apex Blue Pearl for the final model year. With only 1,200 miles showing, it represents one of the most original surviving examples of Honda’s track-focused roadster.

This S2000 CR has a unique backstory. It remained in the possession of American Honda Motor Company until late 2019, when it was awarded to an employee. The current seller acquired it in 2021 and has added only minimal mileage since. Like all CR variants, the car features a distinct aerodynamic package, additional chassis bracing, sport-oriented suspension tuning and a removable hardtop paired with a tonneau cover in place of the standard soft top.
The exterior retains the CR-specific front spoiler, fixed rear wing, black windshield surround and oval exhaust tips. The body shows a few scratches and blemishes noted by the seller, but the original panel VIN tags are present. Factory 17-inch, five-spoke wheels remain mounted with older Bridgestone Potenza tires, underscoring the car’s preserved, low-use condition. The CR package also adds quicker steering, stiffer springs and firmer anti-roll bars than the standard AP2 S2000, sharpening the car’s already precise handling.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed with the CR-exclusive combination of black Alcantara and yellow cloth inserts, including matching yellow stitching throughout. Equipment includes push-button ignition, air conditioning, cruise control and a CD stereo. A digital instrument cluster displays the 1,200-mile odometer reading, only about 60 of which were added under the current owner.
Under the hood sits Honda’s 2.2-liter F22C1 VTEC inline-four, factory-rated at 237 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Recent maintenance includes coolant service in 2022 and an oil change in 2024. Transmission, differential, brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder fluids were also replaced in 2024. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The accompanying Carfax report lists no accidents or damage, further supporting the car’s well-preserved condition. With its rare color, limited production, unmodified state and exceptionally low mileage, this S2000 CR is positioned to attract continued competitive bidding as the auction approaches its final days.
