One-Owner 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE Heads to Auction on Hagerty Marketplace

Rare, single-owner 1986 Fiero SE V6 with original styling and documented repair history hits Hagerty Marketplace without reserve.

A single-owner 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE V6 is now live on Hagerty Marketplace, offered without reserve and showcasing the unique design and engineering that made the Fiero one of General Motors’ boldest 1980s experiments.

Finished in factory Bright Red over a Medium Dark Gray interior, this SE model features Pontiac’s 2.8-liter L44 V6, producing 140 horsepower, mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Built on a space-frame chassis and clothed in Enduraflex plastic body panels, the car retains its original wedge-shaped styling, complete with rally-tuned suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and pop-up headlights.

The seller, a South Carolina-based original owner, purchased the car new in 1986 and recalls choosing the SE over the GT due to personal styling preferences—namely, the absence of a rear spoiler. The couple enjoyed the car initially, but most of the mileage came later when their daughter took it on as a daily driver. Since then, the car has spent the majority of its life stored in a garage, used sparingly around town.

In April 2022, the Fiero sustained minor damage to the driver-side front quarter in a reported accident. The seller notes the damage was fully repaired using authentic Fiero components by ACE Automotive in Irmo, South Carolina, with all lighting and panel alignment restored to factory standards.

Imperfections include a small driver’s seat tear, brittle window seals, hairline cracks in both wing windows, and sporadic radio reception. Nonetheless, the car retains strong original character and comes with two keys, manuals, and spare parts.

With just one owner from new, a documented service history, and a preserved mid-engine layout, this Fiero SE offers enthusiasts a rare chance to acquire a slice of GM’s ambitious engineering legacy. See it here.
