The officially licensed 1968 Ford Mustang fastback, constructed by Ikonic Concepts, will be offered without reserve during the June 25-27 event at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds. Created to commemorate the film’s 25th anniversary in 2025, the car is more than a tribute build. It is an authenticated continuation of the Eleanor name that became synonymous with high-speed chases and muscle car culture after the movie’s release.
Finished in Pepper Gray Metallic paint with black Rally stripes, the fastback mirrors the appearance of the car driven by Nicolas Cage’s character, Randall “Memphis” Raines. The build includes signature visual elements made famous in the film, including custom side scoops, an aggressive front valance and the iconic “Go-Baby-Go” NOS switch mounted beside the shifter.
While the car closely follows the movie’s appearance, modern mechanical upgrades give it contemporary performance. Power comes from a Ford Coyote 5.0-liter V-8 paired with a Holley Terminator X electronic fuel injection system and retro-inspired downdraft stacks. A Tremec TKO 5-speed transmission sends power to a Ford 9-inch rear end.
Performance upgrades continue throughout the chassis. The Eleanor features Wilwood disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, adjustable coilovers, hydro-electric rack-and-pinion steering and a four-link rear suspension designed to improve handling and stability. Ceramic-coated headers and a 2.5-inch exhaust system routed through the side rockers deliver an aggressive exhaust note, while a heavy-duty aluminum radiator helps manage engine temperatures.
The build also received an extensive restoration, with nearly every component replaced or refinished. Hand-fitted body panels, detailed seams and body-color paint on the underside showcase the level of craftsmanship throughout the project. Red LED ground lighting and a laser-cut illuminated “Gone in 60 Seconds” emblem mounted between the taillights further reinforce the car’s movie-inspired identity.
Inside, the cabin combines vintage styling with modern amenities. Dynamat insulation, custom embroidered seats, billet trim and Velocity gauges create a refined interior while maintaining the film’s recognizable aesthetic. A roll bar with harnesses and a faux NOS bottle add movie-accurate details. Modern features such as air conditioning, power windows, USB charging and Bluetooth audio are integrated discreetly into the design.
Adding to the car’s collectability, the dashboard carries the signature of Chuck Picerni, stunt coordinator for the 2000 film. The sale also includes official Eleanor certification documents, a body VIN plate, build records and signed memorabilia connected to the movie.
With only shakedown miles since completion, the licensed Eleanor stands as both a tribute to one of cinema’s most memorable muscle cars and a modern interpretation built for today’s collectors and enthusiasts.
