2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS Brickyard 400 Edition Offered With Just 11,000 Miles

Limited-run 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS Brickyard 400 Edition, one of 45 built, with 11,469 miles and racing pedigree.

GR Auto Gallery has listed a remarkable piece of Chevrolet and motorsport history: a 2002 Camaro SS Brickyard 400 35th Anniversary Edition Convertible. Produced in a limited run of only 45 units, these cars were created to celebrate the Camaro’s 35th anniversary and were showcased at the 2001 NASCAR Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

This particular example, finished in Bright Rally Red with silver checkered and solid stripes, has just 11,469 miles on the odometer and remains all-original. Unique Brickyard 400 decals and special 35th Anniversary SS badging distinguish it from standard production models, underscoring its collectible pedigree.

Under the hood, the car carries Chevrolet’s proven 5.7-liter LS1 V8 rated at 325 horsepower, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The SS package brings enhancements such as a forced-air induction hood, performance suspension, traction control, and a 3.23:1 rear differential. Factory 17-inch alloy wheels complete the period-correct muscle car look.

Inside, the Ebony and Gray leather cabin offers both comfort and exclusivity. The model is equipped with power accessories, air conditioning, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, cruise control, and a tilt steering wheel. Entertainment is provided by a 500-watt Monsoon premium sound system. The vehicle also includes its commemorative car cover and extensive documentation.

Adding to its provenance, this Camaro was driven during a parade lap at the 2001 Brickyard 400 by Mari Hulman George, the late chairperson of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The original owner, who purchased the car new, waited until after the race to take delivery.

With its limited production, low mileage, and direct connection to NASCAR history, the Brickyard 400 35th Anniversary Edition is widely regarded as one of the most desirable fourth-generation Camaros. Collectors will see this example as both an appreciating asset and a tangible link to Chevrolet’s racing heritage.
