Finished in military green over a black interior, the truck was built for the U.S. Army before being decommissioned and titled for street use in California, and it's now dressed up with enough mechanical and creature-comfort upgrades to make it a genuinely usable daily driver rather than a static garage piece.

Under the hood is the M998's original 6.2-liter turbodiesel V8, though this one has clearly been fussed over. The seller lists a BMI Commander 6200 turbo kit, a Forge Motorsport high-flow intake and exhaust, a rear-cylinder cooling balance kit, a heavy-duty thermostatic fan clutch, a high-flow radiator, and auxiliary coolers for both the engine oil and transmission fluid. Power still routes through a four-speed automatic, in this case a rebuilt 700R4, to all four wheels via the portal axles and inboard brakes that let a Humvee shrug off terrain that would strand most trucks. A 24-volt-to-12-volt buck converter and a high-output alternator round out the electrical upgrades needed to run modern accessories off the M998's military-spec electrical architecture.

Exterior changes include a custom steel hardtop and doors, 17-inch wheels, and spike lug nuts, and the odometer shows just 1,800 miles on a five-digit readout, meaning the truck's true lifetime mileage is unknown. The seller notes typical surplus-vehicle wear, including sealant around the door frames and some patches on the driver's seat, along with a recently rebuilt transmission and freshly replaced water pump, fuel pump, fuel tank, cooling hoses, and belts.
