Lexus Unveils All-New 2026 ES with Bold Design and Electrified Options

Lexus debuts the 2026 ES sedan, offering hybrid and electric models, modern styling, and major tech updates.

Lexus has pulled the wraps off its redesigned 2026 ES sedan, revealing a bolder, more electrified direction for one of its longest-running nameplates. Debuting at Auto Shanghai, the new ES features dramatic exterior updates, cutting-edge technology, and the introduction of both hybrid and fully electric powertrains.

The most noticeable change is the departure from the brand’s signature spindle grille, replaced by a smoother, more aerodynamic front end reminiscent of Toyota’s bZ4X EV. The ES also grows significantly in size compared to the outgoing model—stretching 6.5 inches longer, 2.1 inches wider, and 4.3 inches taller—with a wheelbase extended by 3.1 inches to improve interior space and ride comfort.

Inside, Lexus adopts a minimalist, screen-focused layout. Traditional buttons are largely replaced by digital interfaces, highlighted by a 12.3-inch driver display and a 14-inch central infotainment screen. Optional features include a second passenger-side screen, echoing the ultra-luxury layouts seen in Mercedes-Benz’s latest offerings. The cabin also gains a panoramic dimming glass roof and the new Executive Package, which brings reclining, massaging rear seats and additional comfort amenities for backseat passengers.

For powertrains, Lexus is offering U.S. buyers the ES 350h hybrid, featuring a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an integrated eAxle, available in either front- or all-wheel drive. More notably, two fully electric models—the front-wheel-drive ES 350e and all-wheel-drive ES 500e—will join the lineup. The ES 350e offers 221 horsepower and up to 300 miles of range, while the dual-motor ES 500e delivers 338 horsepower and a 5.9-second 0–60 mph sprint.

Pricing details are yet to be announced, but Lexus confirmed that the 2026 ES lineup will reach dealerships sometime next year, signaling the brand’s commitment to blending traditional luxury with future-forward technology.
