The Urus Performante, a 666-horsepower SUV, is specially equipped for urgent medical missions, including the transport of organs and plasma. Its remarkable capabilities, including a top speed of 306 kilometers per hour and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.3 seconds, make it an ideal vehicle for critical, time-sensitive medical deliveries.
Lamborghini's donation is not just about speed; the Urus Performante has been customized to meet the specific needs of these high-stakes missions. "It is lower, wider, and lighter than its basic version," explains Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. The vehicle combines standard traffic police equipment with specialized features for organ transport, ensuring it's fully equipped for both law enforcement and medical emergencies.
This initiative marks the latest chapter in a two-decade-long partnership between Lamborghini and the Italian police, with the Urus Performante joining two Huracán LP610-4s already in service. This is the sixth Lamborghini to be integrated into the police fleet, a testament to the enduring relationship between the luxury car maker and the state police.
State police officer Maria Francesca Bruschi highlighted the vehicle's role in 'life-saving transports,' which are often challenged by complex hospital logistics.
