Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, And Dodge Challenger Hold High Resale Value

These are the best coupes for retaining value.

In the realm of automotive longevity, the Chevy Camaro emerges as a true champion, not only for its exhilarating performance but for its remarkable ability to hold its value over time, according to a recent study by iSeeCars.

Ranked seventh among the top 25 vehicles with the smallest 5-year average depreciation, the Chevy Camaro stands tall, showcasing its prowess in retaining its allure even as a used car. Executive analyst Karl Brauer from iSeeCars highlights that sports cars, including the Camaro, have proven to be frontrunners in value retention, with four of them securing spots in the top 10 models.

Brauer notes a fascinating trend that emerged during the pandemic lockdowns— a surge in demand for "fun" cars. Astonishingly, this trend endures, indicating that the allure of sports cars remains robust in the post-pandemic world.

In the coupe category, the Ford Mustang steals the spotlight as the unrivaled leader in resale value. Retaining a staggering 79 percent of its value after 5 years, the Mustang sets the bar high with an average price of $32,763 for 5-year-old models. This places the Mustang a notable 7.7 percent above the coupe resale value average, which stands at 71.3 percent.

Not far behind, the Chevrolet Camaro claims the second spot for the best resale value among coupes. Holding strong at 76.2 percent of its value after 5 years and commanding an average price of $33,488 for 5-year-old models, the Camaro outshines the coupe resale value average by 4.9 percent.

Adding to the triumphant trio, the Dodge Challenger asserts its dominance in the sports car realm, securing top positions across various categories. As the number one choice for tall individuals, the best sports car for towing, and boasting the most horsepower among its peers, the Challenger embodies a blend of power and practicality, further solidifying its place in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts. As the automotive landscape evolves, these resilient sports cars prove that their allure stands the test of time, appealing to both the thrill-seekers and those seeking lasting value in their automotive investments.
