Bentley Mulliner Delivers One-Off Batur Convertible Designed by Its Owner

Bentley has completed a one-off Batur Convertible that pushes its bespoke program to a new level, allowing a single customer to shape nearly every element of the car’s design. The vehicle, known as Batur Convertible No. 4, was commissioned by Bentley collector Sonia Breslow and is described as the most highly curated example ever produced by the company’s Mulliner division.

The convertible marks several firsts for Bentley customization. It is the first Mulliner-built car to feature a client-specified tri-tone exterior paint scheme. The upper body is finished in Breslow Blue, a color matched to the roof canvas, another first for the brand’s bespoke arm. Additional detailing includes Midnight Breslow Blue accents on the lower body, wheels, side mirrors, and a bonnet pinstripe. A thin gloss-silver line runs along the length of the bonnet, emphasizing Bentley’s “endless bonnet” design theme.

Personalization continues with features never before used on a Bentley production car. The Batur Convertible introduces the first customer-designed animated welcome lamp, projecting the owner’s handwritten name using more than 415,000 microscopic mirrors. The car also debuts Bentley’s first application of three-dimensional printed platinum, used on the steering wheel center marker and the organ stop air vent controls.

Inside, Breslow selected warm, natural tones including tans and caramel shades, complemented by light blue accents and contrast stitching. The interior design incorporates a subtle reference to the car’s name, with the outline of the Batur volcano woven into the deep-pile floor mats. Even the Bentley Rotating Display received bespoke treatment, with custom-colored gauge faces matched to a satin blue Bentley clock.

Despite the extensive customization, the mechanical specification remains unchanged. Power comes from Bentley’s hand-assembled 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine, producing 740 horsepower. Performance figures include a 0-to-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 209 mph.

The completed Batur Convertible joins Breslow’s established collection of rare Bentleys, housed in a climate-controlled garage alongside a Blower Continuation Series, a Speed Six Continuation Series, and the Bacalar. The project highlights how Mulliner continues to expand the boundaries of modern coachbuilding, blending personal expression with Bentley’s established performance and craftsmanship.
