That didn't take long.
The age-old adage "With great power comes great responsibility" has never rung truer, especially when you're behind the wheel of a new S650-generation Mustang GT. A recent video making rounds on TikTok shows that even on a professional drag strip, the allure of a Mustang's power can sometimes lead to calamity.

Sporting an impressive 486 hp from its fourth-generation Coyote V-8 engine, thanks to the optional Active Valve Dual Exhaust, the Mustang GT promises an exhilarating ride down the drag strip. However, what started as a showcase of raw power quickly turned into a cautionary tale for speed enthusiasts everywhere.
While it's commendable that the driver chose the safety of a legitimate drag strip over, say, a bustling Main Street, their capabilities came into question when control of the powerful beast was lost before the finish line. To add salt to the wound, the Mustang GT was already losing ground to its fierce competitor, a seemingly modified Cadillac CTS-V. Before viewers could even process the defeat, in a sudden turn of events, the Mustang veered right, charging past a guardrail, hurdling a grass median, and ultimately colliding with a chain-link fence. A heartrending farewell to the S650 Mustang GT.

Although there's no update on the driver's well-being—fingers crossed for no injuries—the car's condition tells a distressing tale. Between deployed airbags, a shattered rear window, decimated front suspension, and a mangled rear-passenger side, it seems the mighty Mustang met its untimely end. Without any track insurance, this driver will be facing more than just wounded pride, but also a hefty financial burden.
