A 1974 Porsche 911 presented as a fresh RSR tribute build wearing Gulf Blue paint has surfaced on eBay through Trissl Sports Cars, the Florence, Alabama Porsche specialist that recently listed the extraordinary Kremer 911S. This machine carries VIN 9114102437, shows 18,000 miles, and is equipped with a 2.7-liter Mechanical Fuel Injection engine backed by a 5-speed manual transmission — the precise specification that defined Porsche's most successful racing car of the era.

The 911 RSR of 1973 and 1974 is one of the most celebrated competition cars in history. Developed directly from the 911 Carrera RS, the RSR was the factory's full race interpretation, winning the Daytona 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours in 1973 in the hands of Hurley Haywood, Peter Gregg, and others. The RSR's flat-six with mechanical Bosch fuel injection produced upward of 300 horsepower in race trim. The 2.7-liter specification on this example closely mirrors the road-going Carrera RS homologation specification that underpinned the entire family.

Gulf Blue is, of course, one of the most emotionally charged color combinations in all of motorsport. The pale blue associated with the Gulf Oil Corporation's racing sponsorships adorned some of the most iconic racing cars ever built, including the Porsche 917 that won Le Mans in 1970 and 1971. Wearing that color, any Porsche takes on an immediate layer of romance and historical weight.

The black interior keeps things purposeful and period-correct. The current bid sits at $73,582.20 with the reserve not yet met, while the Buy It Now price of $367,911 reflects what the seller believes a properly executed RSR tribute commands in today's market.

Those following the Porsche market closely will recognize that original 1973-74 RSRs have now crossed the seven-figure threshold at major auction houses. A well-executed tribute at a fraction of that price represents an accessible entry into the RSR experience for those who want to drive and enjoy rather than preserve under climate-controlled conditions.
