1959 Chevy Brookwood Wagon Boasts Professional Restoration

This wagon is a real stunner with some strategic upgrades.

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect classic wagon, it doesn’t get much better than this 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood Wagon. Wearing a fresh coat of the original Crown Sapphire and Snowcrest White up top, this Chevy is all about keeping things original. Take this to show off and you’ll have plenty of admirers or hit the open road and enjoy how this classic goes.

While looks are important, you really need to appreciate what this Brookwood brings to table as far as performance. An ex-Cosworth engine builder recently rebuilt the Chevrolet 406 small-block V8, adding forged pistons, Dart II big valve heads, Crane roller cockers, Lunati cam, Edelbrock air gap intake, and a Holley 750 carb. Hooker headers with powder coating are also bolted up to a custom and powder-coated dual exhaust system using Bosal mufflers with nice oval tips like what you see in NASCAR, just for that extra flair. The 700R4 transmission has been rebuilt as well with a new torque converter, so this wagon cruises great.

The rest of the exterior on this vehicle is just super clean, with all the panels fitting perfectly. The chrome was redone just a little while ago, so you could use either bumper like a mirror in a pinch. You’ll note pinstriping on the body, but it’s done over the clearcoat, so you can remove it if that’s not your style.

When you move to the interior, it’s mostly just like GM designed it back in the day, which is very impressive. The Eazy Eye green glass is all still there, including the windshield. One liberty that was taken is the use of a cloth and vinyl combo tri-tone upholstery like what you find in 1959 Chevy Impalas, which looks great and very appropriate for a wagon like this.

Made from 1958 to 1961, there aren’t a lot of Chevy Brookwoods out there these days. None are quite like this one. If you’re interested in purchasing it, talk to Classic Auto Showplace.
