Supercharged 2005 Acura NSX-T Hits Bring a Trailer at No Reserve, Salvage Title and All

A Long Beach Blue Pearl 2005 Acura NSX-T that's been thoroughly reworked by a respected Honda tuning shop is heading toward its final bids at no reserve on Bring a Trailer, with the sale, Lot #256,079, scheduled to end August 5. Bidding on the six-speed targa currently sits at $37,777, a figure that barely hints at how much engineering and cash have gone into this particular car.

Acura built roughly 248 examples of the NSX-T for the 2005 model year, the last year of production before Honda shelved the model until a very different hybrid NSX arrived a decade later. Only ten of those cars left the factory in this specific combination of Long Beach Blue Pearl paint over blue leather, and this one still wears its removable, body-color targa roof panel.

The real story sits under the rear clamshell. ScienceofSpeed of Chandler, Arizona, fitted the 3.2-liter VTEC V-6 with a Magnuson TVS 1900 supercharger, a 75mm throttle body, and its own intercooler and charge piping in April 2025, then supported the added boost with a Link G4X XtremeX ECU, Injector Dynamics 1,050cc injectors, a Walbro 255-lph fuel pump, and AEM sensors to monitor air-fuel ratio and fluid temperature. A ScienceofSpeed Sport 350 clutch and flywheel went in alongside a fresh timing belt, water pump, and spark plugs, while a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential still send everything to the pavement the old-fashioned way.

Chassis work is just as thorough. KW V3 coilovers, ScienceofSpeed top mounts, and a shock tower brace went in alongside the supercharger kit, and Brembo Pista four-piston front calipers with slotted rotors followed in December 2025. White 17-inch and 18-inch Volk Racing TE37 wheels wrapped in Falken Azenis RT615K+ tires fill the arches, and the exterior wears NSX-R-style hood, engine cover, and spoiler pieces along with Spoon mirrors and a rear diffuser.

Inside, Recaro bucket seats trimmed in black leather with blue microsuede sit behind a MOMO wheel on a quick-release hub, and a ScienceofSpeed ProFormance audio system with Hertz door speakers and an Audison subwoofer feeds a touchscreen head unit with Apple CarPlay. A backup camera rounds out the cabin, blending 2005-era switchgear with a few modern conveniences.

None of this comes without a catch. A Carfax report tied to the car documents a 2017 insurance total loss following front and left-front damage, and the North Carolina title now carries a salvage rebuilt brand, with Carfax also listing thirteen previous owners over the car's life. The current owner bought the NSX-T on Bring a Trailer back in May 2026 and has added only around 200 of its 39,000 indicated miles since, suggesting it's mostly been enjoyed rather than driven hard.

That branded title is a big reason the current bid looks so low next to what clean NSX-Ts have been fetching. Running the numbers through Hagerty's valuation tools shows a 2005 NSX-T 3.2L in #3, or "Good," condition pricing out around $122,000, with Hagerty tracking roughly 55 public auction sales over the past three years ranging from about $79,000 to more than $400,000 depending on condition and history. Quality modifications and a documented rebuild can help close that gap for the right buyer, but a branded title is one of the factors Hagerty's own data consistently ties to softer prices, which likely explains why bidding here remains well under six figures with the clock still running.

The car is being sold by speed.house, a BaT Local Partner based in Durham, North Carolina, on behalf of the current owner, and the sale includes a pile of spare and removed factory parts.
