Low-Mile 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 Heads to Auction in Pennsylvania

A first-year 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 with fewer than 20,000 miles is drawing interest ahead of its auction close in Douglassville, Pennsylvania. The car is listed with a current price of $29,750, 29 bids, and more than 6,000 views as the sale approaches its scheduled ending.

The example shows 19,600 miles and is described as unmodified, preserving its original configuration as one of the earliest production versions of Dodge’s flagship performance car. Only 285 Vipers were produced for the 1992 model year, making the vehicle part of a limited first-year run that helped establish the model’s reputation.

The Viper program began as a focused effort led by Chrysler leadership and performance consultants, with the concept first appearing at the Detroit Auto Show in 1989. Engineers developed a tubular space-frame chassis with a central spine, paired with a fully independent suspension using Koni coil-over shocks. The lightweight fiberglass body contributed to the car’s raw performance approach.

Power comes from an 8.0-liter V10 originally designed for truck applications, later refined with aluminum components. In its early configuration, the engine produced 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Acceleration to 60 mph came in under five seconds, with a top speed rated at 164 mph. The engine is paired with a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission.

All 1992 Vipers were finished in Viper Red over gray leather interiors, a combination retained on this example. Factory features include a side-exit exhaust, forward-hinged clamshell hood, 17-inch tri-spoke alloy wheels, and four-wheel independent suspension with vented disc brakes. Interior equipment includes an AM/FM cassette stereo, cabin heater, and a removable rear window.

The vehicle is offered by a selling dealer with a clean CARFAX history report and a clean Pennsylvania title. The history report indicates two prior owners with registrations in Ohio, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. Known imperfections include the absence of factory removable side windows. See it here.
