A customized 1999 Honda Acty 4WD paired with a 2021 Honda Monkey minibike is set to be offered as a single, themed package at an upcoming Mecum auction, blending Japanese kei-class utility with playful pop-culture styling.
The two-vehicle lot brings together a third-generation Honda Acty truck and a modern Monkey minibike, both finished in coordinated Hot Wheels-inspired graphics. Flame decals, Hot Wheels branding, and color-matched detailing appear across both vehicles, extending beyond paintwork to interior embroidery and accessories. The package also includes a matching skateboard and an open-face helmet, reinforcing the curated, lifestyle-oriented presentation.
The Acty, produced by Honda, represents the third generation of the kei-class truck line introduced in 1999. This iteration marked a significant redesign, adopting a semi-bonneted layout to meet updated safety standards while retaining the mid-engine configuration that had defined the model since its 1977 debut. Power comes from a 660cc fuel-injected engine designed to prioritize low-speed usability and efficiency, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The example offered features Honda’s Real Time 4WD system, a configuration that has become especially popular among import enthusiasts.
Originally designed as a compact work vehicle for Japan’s farms, trades, and urban delivery routes, the Acty evolved over decades to balance durability, low operating costs, and clever packaging within strict kei regulations. The third-generation trucks, produced for roughly a decade, are now regarded as the high point of the original Acty concept and have developed a strong following outside Japan.
The Monkey minibike complements the truck both visually and conceptually. Finished in matching blue paint with flame graphics, it rides in the Acty’s cargo bed and carries the skateboard in a side-mounted holder. Together, the vehicles form a cohesive display that blurs the line between transportation and collectible design.
The entire package is scheduled to be sold as one lot by Mecum Auctions on Jan. 16 in Kissimmee. Rather than being offered separately, the Acty, Monkey, and accessories are positioned as a unified set, appealing to collectors drawn to quirky imports, themed builds, and automotive culture beyond traditional performance metrics.
