Hagerty Marketplace Hosts 'Battle of the Restomods' With Corvette and Charger From Burnyzz Collection

Burnyzz Collection’s Corvette and Charger restomods face off in Hagerty Marketplace’s “Battle of the Restomods,” both selling without reserve.

Two American legends with modern hearts are squaring off on Hagerty Marketplace this week as Burnyzz Collection presents a “Battle of the Restomods.” Both cars—an LS3-powered 1961 Chevrolet Corvette and a Hellcat-powered 1970 Dodge Charger R/T—are being offered without reserve until August 29, giving enthusiasts a chance to bid on custom builds that merge classic styling with contemporary performance.

1961 Chevrolet Corvette LS3 Restomod

The Corvette represents the final evolution of the C1 generation, its body blending midcentury style with hints of the coming C2. This example has been meticulously reimagined by Burnyzz over a two-year build, pairing timeless lines with a fuel-injected 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 mated to a four-speed 4L80 automatic transmission. An Art Morrison chassis with fully independent suspension, Wilwood brakes, and rack-and-pinion steering transform its handling and drivability.

The exterior is finished in refined gray with a black convertible top, while the interior showcases ox blood leather stitched across the seats, dash, and panels. Vintage Air conditioning, custom digital gauges, a Pioneer Bluetooth stereo, and a fully trimmed trunk round out its modern amenities. As Burnyzz describes it, “No expense was spared… runs great, drive it anywhere while staying cool and looking cool.”

1970 Dodge Charger Hellcat Restomod

On the other side of the ring is the Charger, finished in iconic Plum Crazy paint with a Finale Speed carbon-fiber hood and fenders. Beneath the surface lies a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V-8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission, sending massive power through a Schwartz Performance chassis. Adjustable coilovers, a Moser 9-inch rear end, Wilwood brakes, and rack-and-pinion steering provide modern control over the muscle.

The Charger retains its vintage presence with hidden headlights but adds modern comforts like air conditioning, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Kicker sound system. With only 161 miles since completion, it remains fresh from its build and accompanied by documentation and receipts.

A Clash of Icons

Both cars embody the spirit of restomodding—honoring heritage while embracing modern engineering. Offered from the Burnyzz Collection without reserve, the Corvette and Charger invite collectors to decide which vision of American performance wins the “Battle of the Restomods.”
