1967 Pontiac LeMans Eats Goats For Breakfast

This 1967 Pontiac LeMans isn't a GTO – it's even better.

The Pontiac LeMans is perhaps best known as spawning the GTO, the car that gave birth to the muscle car movement as we know it. That wasn't all the LeMans was good for, though.

This particular LeMans has some serious high performance hardware under the hood. It has a massive 428 cubic inch Pontiac V8 between the fenders, fed by a trio of two barrel carburetors.

That potent powerplant breathes through a 3" Flowmaster dual exhaust system, and shifting duties are handled by a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. We're sure that this monster would be an absolute riot to drive.

A powerful engine needs an equally tough rear axle that can stand up to the abuse. You'll find a Moser 12 bolt rear end under this LeMans, with 3.42 gears and, naturally, PosiTraction.

While you might expect a brutal driving experience from this monster, it's actually a pretty pleasant machine. The car retains its factory air conditioning, and you'll find it easy to drive thanks to its power rack and pinion steering.

With that kind of power on tap, we're glad that careful attention was paid to the suspension and brakes, too. The suspension has been completely rebuilt with all new parts, and there are Wildwood disc brakes on all four corners.

As you can see from the photos, plenty of attention was paid to the exterior, too. There's a lot of new trim, which helps the Tyrol Blue paint – one of our favorite late '60s Pontiac colors – look its best.

If you'd like to add this LeMans to your garage, you can find it at Corvette Mike Midwest with an asking price of $54,990. Big-cube performance, a five speed manual, and a comfortable ride – what more could you want out of a classic muscle car?
