Renault’s Sport Spider is one of the weirdest roadsters of the 1990s, and a low-mileage one is up for auction on PCARMARKET from a private seller in Englishtown, New Jersey.
It was Renault Sport’s first production road car, unveiled at the 1995 Geneva show and built in small numbers at the former Alpine factory in Dieppe, France. The recipe was simple: a lightweight aluminum chassis, composite bodywork, scissor doors and a mid-mounted 2.0-liter 16-valve inline-four with a five-speed manual transaxle. According to the listing, about 1,640 road-going examples were built.
This one is finished in Pearl Sport Yellow over a black and gray interior, shows 11,215 miles and has a clean title. It is offered with a reserve.
Low-production European cars can be hard to service in the U.S., which makes a pre-purchase inspection worth considering.
