A striking Ara Blue Crystal Effect 2018 Audi R8 V10 Coupe is gaining serious traction in a Bring a Trailer auction, with bidding already past $101,000 and four days left on the clock. The listing, posted by a Canton, Ohio-based seller on Bring a Trailer, showcases a heavily personalized R8 that blends factory supercar credentials with a healthy dose of aftermarket attitude.
Under the hood, the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 hasn't been left alone. The seller says Cicio Performance revised the engine and transaxle control software to bring output roughly in line with the more powerful R8 V10 Plus, and paired that work with a valved exhaust system that opens up under throttle. All of that power still routes through Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, keeping the car planted in a way few mid-engine rivals can match.
Visually, the coupe leans into its Ara Blue Crystal Effect paint with a carbon-fiber front lip and mirror caps, a body-color X-brace across the engine bay, and matching brake calipers mounted over cross-drilled rotors. Gloss-black 20-inch Rohanna RFX19 wheels were fitted under the current owner's tenure and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber with only around 2,000 miles of use. Paint protection film covers most of the body, though the seller notes some chips remain in the windshield and front lip.
Inside, the cabin received a 2025 refresh with custom blue-bolstered, black Alcantara seating featuring diamond-pattern stitching, along with high-gloss Carbon Sigma trim across the dash, console, and doors. A Bang & Olufsen sound system, Audi Virtual Cockpit, and MMI navigation round out the technology, all wrapped around a flat-bottom, carbon-trimmed steering wheel.
According to the listing, the car has passed through five previous owners and shows roughly 39,000 miles, about 12,000 of which were added since the current owner acquired it in 2022. A clean Carfax report shows no accidents, and the Ohio title comes with a lien that will need to be satisfied before the sale can close.
Values for the R8 have proven remarkably resilient for a modern supercar. Hagerty's valuation tools show the first-generation V10 coupe holding in the neighborhood of six figures in good condition, with public auction results over the last three years ranging from roughly $52,500 to as high as $268,500 depending on spec and condition. Hagerty doesn't yet track the second-generation Type 4S cars like this 2018 example as closely, but recent sales suggest the newer generation is following a similar pattern, with clean, well-optioned examples holding value better than most contemporaries.
Motorious has tracked plenty of other R8 stories worth a look, including this V10 Plus that recently sold for under $150,000, a no-reserve V10 Spyder, and even an abandoned R8 that got a second lease on life.
With the auction set to close on August 31, this modified R8 is shaping up to be one of the more interesting supercar deals to watch this week on Bring a Trailer.
