Chevrolet never made the Camaro Z/28 subtle about its mission, but the build sheet on this one takes the track-first idea a step further. This 663-mile 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is live on Bring a Trailer, and according to the listing it was ordered without air conditioning, which the seller says makes it one of just 34 examples finished in Black over black leather and sueded microfiber.

Why Leaving Off the A/C Matters
The Z/28 was built to lap a circuit, not to cruise to the office. To get there, Chevrolet stripped out sound deadening and trunk carpeting, fitted thinner rear glass, and dropped the fog lamps. Launch coverage of the car noted that air conditioning was only available as an option, and the spare tire went missing too: the RPO list posted in the listing comments includes spare wheel and tire delete codes, along with a heater code and no air conditioning code.
Ordering the car without A/C pushes it to the purest end of that formula. It is the version that most clearly says what the Z/28 was for, and even a commenter on the listing noted that the A/C-delete cars are the ones collectors want. A related note on the listing points out that Z/28s ordered without A/C still came with a radio, so this is a lighter, less comfortable spec rather than a stripped-out one.
What Sits Underneath
The heart of the car is the hand-assembled 7.0-liter LS7 V8 with dry-sump lubrication, rated at 505 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque. It is the same engine family Motorious covered when Chevrolet Performance cancelled the LS7 crate engine. Power goes to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual and a helical limited-slip differential.
The rest of the spec reads like a checklist of what made the Z/28 special:
- Spool-valve dampers and a Performance Traction Management system
- 19-inch forged Y-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber
- Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes with Z/28-branded calipers
- Recaro front seats with Z/28 embroidery and sueded microfiber on the wheel, shifter and dash
- A dual-mode exhaust and a vented carbon-fiber hood insert
Chevrolet validated the package with a 7:37.40 lap of the Nürburgring, and the Z/28 weighed roughly 300 pounds less than the supercharged ZL1.
The Car and the Auction
This example has covered 663 miles with two registered owners, a clean Carfax report and an Indiana title showing actual mileage. It is being offered by a dealer in Illinois. Production totals are widely reported at 1,292 Z/28s for 2015, following about 515 for 2014, so even the base car is scarce before you start narrowing it down by color and options.
As of Friday morning the bid sat at $50,000 after seven bids, with the auction scheduled to end on Thursday, October 22 at 3:53 p.m. ET. You can see the full photo gallery, the posted RPO list, and the bidding on the original Bring a Trailer listing.
