Low-Mileage 2012 McLaren MP4-12C Heads to Auction With Strong Interest

A low-mileage 2012 McLaren MP4-12C is drawing attention ahead of its auction close in Douglassville, Pennsylvania, where bidding has reached $46,000 with several days remaining. The supercar shows 7,400 miles and is presented as an unmodified example equipped with a range of factory performance and luxury options.

Introduced as part of McLaren Automotive’s return to producing road-going vehicles, the MP4-12C built on the brand’s Formula One–influenced engineering philosophy. The 2012 version continued development of the model introduced the prior year, emphasizing incremental improvements rather than a full redesign.

At the center of the car’s design is the carbon-fiber MonoCell chassis, engineered for high stiffness and low weight. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter M838T V8 developed with Ricardo, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle. Software updates during the model year increased output to 616 horsepower. The vehicle also features ProActive Chassis Control, a hydraulic suspension system designed to balance ride comfort with track-focused handling.

The car is finished in Volcano Orange over a Midnight Blue leather and Alcantara interior. Factory equipment includes 19- and 20-inch Super-Lightweight forged wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon fiber exterior trim, and a carbon fiber interior upgrade package. Additional features include heated carbon-fiber-backed seats, a Meridian DSP surround sound system, launch control, electronic stability control with multiple driving modes, parking sensors, and an active rear spoiler.

Documentation accompanying the vehicle includes owner’s manuals, service records beginning in 2016, and a clean CARFAX history report listing multiple service entries. Maintenance noted in the records includes replacement of the front main seal and water pump in May 2018. The car rides on Pirelli tires dated 2014.

The history report indicates the vehicle was originally sold and registered in Florida, later moving to Montana and Pennsylvania. It is now offered by a selling dealer with a clean Pennsylvania title as bidding continues toward the auction’s scheduled close. See it here.
