Few cars from the late '90s and early 2000s sound as angry standing still as a Dodge Viper, and one with almost no miles on it is a rare find. A 6,000-mile 2001 Dodge Viper RT/10 in Sapphire Blue is up for bid on Bring a Trailer through Collectible Classics, with the auction ending Thursday, October 15 at 2:41 p.m. ET. Bidding sits at $25,250 as of this writing.

The car stayed registered in California until earlier this year and now carries a clean Pennsylvania title. The listing reports a clean Carfax with no accidents or damage, and Carfax shows a last reported reading of 5,864 miles. Under the long clamshell hood is the familiar 8.0-liter OHV V10, rated at 450 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual and a limited-slip differential.

A Last-Generation Viper With the Good Stuff

2001 is a sweet spot for the second-generation Viper. It was the first year with ABS, a small but meaningful upgrade on a car that has never offered traction or stability control. This one also comes with a removable hardtop, a removable soft top and a removable rear window, plus 18-inch five-spoke wheels, air conditioning, power windows and an Alpine CD stereo. The cabin is black leather throughout, with a 200-mph speedometer and a 6,000-rpm tachometer in front of the driver.

It isn't flawless, and the seller says so. The passenger-side rocker panel was replaced ahead of the sale, the chrome on the wheels is peeling, and the Michelin Pilot Sport tires are older. Paint-meter photos and a walkaround video of imperfections are included in the gallery, which is the kind of transparency bidders want on a car like this. Commenters have noted the stock exhaust is quieter than most Vipers that come up for sale, which suits anyone who values originality over volume.

What Hagerty's Valuation Tools Say

For context, the Hagerty Price Guide puts a 2001 Viper RT/10 in #3 (Good) condition at $44,100 as of October 2026, with a range of roughly $40,000 to $50,400. That's up 8.1% over the last quarter, 7.8% over the past year and 10.8% over three years. For reference, the RT/10 listed for $69,225 when new.

The auction record backs that up. Hagerty counts 148 public sales of 2001 RT/10s over the last three years, ranging from a low of $24,750 to a high of $130,000. The most recent, a Hagerty Marketplace sale on October 1, sold for $40,000. Across all 1996-2002 Vipers, Hagerty tracked 93 sales in the past 12 months, up 22%, at an average of about $70,700. That average is pulled up by the pricier GTS and GTS ACR coupes, and it shows how much the second-gen Viper market has strengthened.

A 6,000-mile example sits in a different tier than a typical #3 driver, so the current bid has plenty of room to climb. One BaT commenter predicted the car won't leave the garage below $70,000, which would put it well above Hagerty's #3 figure and closer to the top of what RT/10s have brought.

More Second-Gen Viper Action

The rest of the Viper market has been busy too. We recently looked at a rare Race Yellow 2001 Viper RT/10, one of just 356 built, heading to Gaas' November sale, and a 20,000-mile 2001 Viper GTS ACR on Bring a Trailer. If you're curious how the later cars compare, check out a 4,800-mile 2006 Viper SRT-10 coupe, the 543-mile 2017 Viper GTC, and our look at the final-year Viper GTS. For a wilder take on the V10, there's the Viper-powered Ram SRT-10.

Bidding on this Sapphire Blue RT/10 closes Thursday afternoon. See the full listing, photo gallery and videos on Bring a Trailer.
