1974 Chevrolet Camaro

The Camaro was redesigned again in 1974 and featured a newly redesigned bumper with a body colored fascia above the front bumper. The grille was now shovel-shaped and the rear taillights wrapped into the fenders.

The RS model was discontinued at the end of the model year, and the 1974 was the only Camaro with the seatbelt interlock system required by federal law. This annoying feature required all seatbelts to be engaged before the car would start. Obviously, this feature was short-lived, and only existed in 1974.

1974 would be the last Z/28 for a couple years and sported a large “Z28” hood decals. It also featured revised suspension, a black painted grille, and dual sport mirrors.

The Type LT (Luxury Touring) continued to sell well and added wood grain, additional insulation and restyled seats.
