One of the rarest modern Bugatti models ever produced has changed hands at auction, as a 1999 Bugatti EB112 sold for nearly $2 million during a recent sale in Monaco. The car represents the final example of just three units built, making it an exceptionally scarce piece of automotive history.
With only 388 kilometers recorded on the odometer, the EB112 stands out not only for its rarity but also for its remarkably low mileage. The model occupies a unique place in Bugatti’s lineage, offering a sedan interpretation of the brand’s performance-focused identity during the late 1990s.
The EB112 was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, whose styling approach gave the car a distinctive presence. Its flowing lines and rounded bodywork differ from the more aggressive styling typically associated with Bugatti models. While subtle cues hint at its identity, the front grille remains one of the few immediately recognizable design elements tied to the marque.
Inside, the car reflects a more traditional approach to luxury and craftsmanship.
