RM Sotheby's wrapped its second live sale at Lake Tegernsee this week, teaming with the Concours of Elegance Germany for a boutique auction that sold 91 percent of the 24 lots on offer and grossed €10.5 million. The result caps an outstanding first half of the auction house's 2026 calendar, a stretch Motorious previewed as one of several major sales shaping this summer's collector market.
Topping the docket was a 2009 Ferrari 599XX Evo, one of roughly 45 examples built and among the earliest cars in the series before its 2012 upgrade to full Evoluzione specification. Finished in Rosso Fuoco and cared for by just two private owners since new, the track-only special has been maintained throughout by Ferrari's factory XX Programme division. It sold for €2,536,250, continuing the strong demand for 599XX examples that Motorious has tracked as more of these hypercars reach the open market.
A 2023 Ferrari 812 Competizione, one of 999 coupes built, followed at €1,467,500. The one-owner car has covered barely 1,587 kilometers and was extensively personalized through Ferrari's bespoke program, finished in a special-order Canna Di Fucile with a Giallo Fly racing stripe. Rounding out the podium was a 2004 Porsche Carrera GT that brought €1,445,000. Delivered new to the United States and showing 24,121 kilometers, the modern-era Porsche halo car was later repainted by its second owner in a matte grey inspired by the Lamborghini Reventón, a departure from the factory GT Silver Metallic it wore from new.
Several other lots pushed well past the half-million-euro mark. A 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale with just 365 kilometers on the clock brought €680,000, while a 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG Cabriolet, one of only 80 convertibles built to celebrate Mercedes' 2003 DTM title and offered from its original supplying dealership, sold for €657,500. A 2009 Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M, one of 499 examples commissioned to mark Ferrari's 16th Formula 1 constructors' championship, added €651,875 to the tally.
