Revology Unveils Modern Take on 1969 Mustang Boss 429

Revology has introduced a new interpretation of the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429, expanding its lineup of reimagined classic pony cars. The company, founded in 2015 by former Ford SVT executive Tom Scarpello, has spent years producing first-generation Mustang restomods equipped with contemporary V8 power. Its latest creation continues that formula, blending vintage style with present-day performance.

The new Boss 429 starts with an all-steel body constructed using modern OEM techniques, including automated spot welding, seam-welded joints and structural adhesives. Revology says this approach provides significantly more rigidity than the original car. The first completed example wears a Porsche color known as Lava Orange and rides on 17-inch Magnum 500 wheels styled to resemble the factory design.

Inside, the cabin adopts an old-school appearance but incorporates upgraded materials and redesigned ergonomics. Leather seating and a wrapped steering wheel accompany a custom instrument cluster that conceals a seven-inch screen. A revised center console and Harmon-Kardon audio system round out the interior, all arranged to maintain a classic look while delivering modern comfort.

Power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V8 rated at 710 horsepower. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. Underneath, the car rides on a contemporary chassis featuring a double-wishbone front suspension, aluminum subframe, and a three-link rear setup with a torque arm and Panhard rod. Hydraulic power steering, four-wheel disc brakes and tuned springs and dampers complete the package.

Revology plans to produce 50 units of the updated Boss 429 next year. More than half of those vehicles are already reserved, primarily by returning customers who secured early build slots before the broader announcement.
