Retro-Styled Challenger Hellcat Channels 1969 Charger With Modern Muscle and Supercar Pricing

A modern Dodge Challenger Hellcat has been reimagined to closely resemble the iconic 1969 Dodge Charger, blending classic muscle car design with contemporary performance and technology. While not the first attempt at recreating the second-generation Charger’s look on a modern platform, this particular build stands out for its extensive visual transformation and its price point, which rivals that of a new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

The appeal largely stems from the enduring legacy of the 1969 Charger, widely regarded as one of the most recognizable American muscle cars ever produced. That model year introduced a revised grille with a center divider, longitudinal taillights, and the return of the bumblebee stripe in a new format. Its aggressive redesign and cultural prominence, particularly through television, cemented its place in automotive history.

This Challenger Hellcat reportedly received its transformation from Six Twelve Auto Worx, utilizing molded carbon-fiber bodywork designed to echo the Charger’s unmistakable profile. The exterior is finished in Demon Smoke clearcoat with a red rear stripe and includes period-inspired and modern elements such as a cowl hood, HID Air Catcher headlights, LED taillights, a carbon-fiber taillight surround, and a flip-up fuel cap. Additional details include a rear diffuser, scalloped doors, body-color bumpers, and center-exit dual exhaust outlets. The car rides on black 20-inch Y-spoke forged wheels wrapped in Nitto NT555 G2 tires, with a wider setup at the rear.

Performance hardware remains consistent with the Hellcat formula. The car features an SRT-tuned Bilstein three-mode active suspension and large Brembo brakes with red six- and four-piston calipers. Inside, the cabin blends comfort and performance with Demonic Red Laguna leather heated and ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, carbon-fiber trim, and modern conveniences including UConnect infotainment, a Harman Kardon audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and keyless entry with push-button start.

Power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 producing 717 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The result is a modern muscle car that visually channels a legendary past while delivering present-day performance at a premium price.
