A nearly new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible has changed hands for a fraction of its original cost, fetching $123,000 at auction — well under its $176,300 sticker price. Despite its hefty list of options and showroom-ready condition, the high-performance American supercar demonstrates how depreciation can hit even the most desirable models.
Originally delivered to Craig Smith Chevrolet in Galion, Ohio, this Z06 was ordered with $48,000 in factory upgrades and finished in the eye-catching Amplify Orange Tintcoat. The first owner parted ways with it after about a year, logging just over 2,100 miles. The second owner, who purchased it in 2024, recently sold the car — likely taking a loss in the process — reportedly to make room for the upcoming Corvette ZR1.

The Z06 stands out as one of the most extreme Corvettes ever built. Its naturally aspirated 5.5-liter LT6 V8 features a flat-plane crankshaft and revs to 8,600 rpm, producing 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, launching the car from zero to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds.
This example’s long list of options includes the Carbon Fiber Aero package with a high rear wing, carbon ground effects, front dive planes, and the Z07 performance suspension. It also features carbon fiber wheels wrapped in Michelin tires, orange Brembo calipers, and carbon-ceramic brakes. Inside, the Jet Black leather cabin includes heated and ventilated GT2 bucket seats, orange seatbelts, a carbon-trimmed steering wheel, and a 14-speaker Bose system.
Although the car sold well below MSRP, the buyer appears to have scored a serious deal. Comparable supercars from European marques routinely cost hundreds of thousands more, making the Z06 one of the best values in modern performance — even with depreciation factored in.
