Hennessey Performance has introduced a special anniversary edition of its Super Venom Mustang, delivering a powerful statement as the Texas-based tuner celebrates 35 years in the high-performance automotive industry.
The latest version of the Super Venom is based on the seventh-generation Ford Mustang and represents the most extreme iteration of the platform to date. Engineers enhanced Ford’s 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 engine with a large supercharger, paired with upgraded high-flow air induction and refined engine management systems. The result is a dramatic increase in output, pushing the vehicle to 850 horsepower. That figure places it above other high-performance Mustang variants, including Ford’s GTD and anticipated Dark Horse SC.
Performance figures highlight the car’s capabilities, with acceleration from zero to 60 mph estimated at 3.2 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 10.9 seconds. These numbers position the Super Venom firmly in the upper tier of modern American muscle cars.
Beyond power, the anniversary edition features distinct visual and aerodynamic upgrades. A carbon-fiber VenomAero package includes a redesigned front splitter, vented hood, side skirts and a prominent fixed rear wing. Unique styling elements emphasize the milestone, including a “91” hood graphic referencing the company’s founding year and a “35” badge mounted on the front fender.
Exclusivity is central to the model’s appeal. Production will be limited to just 35 units, aligning with the company’s anniversary and reinforcing its rarity among collectors and enthusiasts.
Pricing details have not yet been released, though expectations suggest a premium above the standard Super Venom, which starts at $163,950. Even so, it is likely to remain below the price point of Ford’s GTD, which begins around $320,000.
The anniversary Super Venom underscores Hennessey’s continued focus on pushing performance boundaries while celebrating its legacy in the automotive world.
