Most mid-2000s BMW 7 Series sedans are remembered for iDrive confusion and the styling debate that followed the E65's debut. Alpina, the small German firm in Buchloe that has spent decades turning BMWs into something faster and more refined, had a different idea. A 42k-mile 2008 Alpina B7 in Alpine White is live on Bring a Trailer with no reserve, and the auction ends Tuesday, October 27 at 3:13 p.m. ET.

At the time of writing the bid sits at just $2,008, which is a strange number to see next to a car that Alpina rated at 500 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.

A 750i that went to the gym

The B7 starts as a standard-wheelbase 750i, then gets a supercharged and intercooled 4.4-liter V8 with a forged crankshaft and Mahle pistons, according to the listing. Power runs to the rear wheels through a six-speed Switch-tronic automatic with steering-wheel shift buttons. Alpina quoted a 0-60 mph time of roughly 4.8 seconds for the E65 B7, which put a full-size luxury sedan in the same neighborhood as the sport sedans of its day.

It is not just an engine swap. This one rides on Alpina-tuned suspension, the larger brakes from the European-market 760i, and 21-inch Alpina wheels wrapped in 245/35 front and 285/30 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Inside, the instruments include a 200-mph speedometer, plus blue and gray stitching on the leather-wrapped wheel and B7 sill plates. Everything else is still very much a flagship 7 Series: Cream Beige Nasca leather, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, Night Vision, Active Cruise Control, soft-close doors and a Rear Entertainment package with a trunk-mounted DVD changer.

Why it got forgotten

The Alpina B7 only reached the United States for the 2007 model year, and it arrived in the shadow of the E60 M5 with its screaming V10. A 500-horsepower, supercharged sedan that looked nearly like a regular 7 Series was easy to overlook, and the E65's reputation for complicated electronics did the rest. Bids on this one have stayed far below what the specification would suggest, and BaT commenters on this listing have raised the usual maintenance worries that come with any aging flagship.

That is exactly why the B7 deserves another look. Alpina's older work, by contrast, now draws real collector attention, as the record Alpina sale made clear, and we have followed the brand through several auctions, including a rare 1988 B7 Turbo/1 Katalysator, the twin-turbo 1992 Alpina B10 BiTurbo and a 7,000-mile 2003 Alpina Roadster V8. If you want another oversized sedan with a serious engine and a cautionary reputation, the twin-turbo V12 Mercedes S65 AMG tells a similar story.

What to know before you bid

This B7 has about 42k miles, roughly 800 of which were added by the current owner, along with 28 service records, two previous owners and a Carfax report with no accidents or damage. Oil was most recently changed in December 2025.

The title deserves a close read. The seller bought the car from a Texas dealership and, after never receiving the title, went through the state's bonded title process, so the car carries a bonded Texas title in the seller's name. Several commenters have asked about it, and the seller describes the process as easy and the title as clean, and notes the car was previously offered on BaT in April 2026, where bidding reached $18,750 and did not meet the reserve. It is back with no reserve, so someone is going to take it home. Read the comments and talk to the seller about the title before you place a bid.

The auction is live now with a little over five days left, and the car is located in Dallas, Texas. The full listing, photo gallery, four videos and Carfax report are on Bring a Trailer.
