General Motors has introduced a new Chevrolet Performance Carbon Fiber Aero Package for the sixth-generation Camaro ZL1 coupe, designed to sharpen both appearance and aerodynamic performance. The upgrade aims to bridge the gap between the standard ZL1 and the more extreme, track-oriented ZL1 1LE.
Developed by GM’s Performance Parts engineering team, the package reflects the brand’s continued investment in performance technology even after production of the sixth-generation Camaro ended with the 2024 model year. Engineers relied on advanced computational modeling and extensive track testing to deliver aerodynamic balance and high-speed stability while preserving the ZL1’s comfort and road manners.
The new package includes a ZL1 1LE front grille, carbon-fiber hood insert, splitter with carbon-fiber end caps, carbon-fiber rocker extensions, and a large carbon-fiber rear spoiler. Customers can further enhance the look with optional Tech Bronze wheels, which complement the composite bodywork with a distinctive finish. Together, these additions provide a 361-percent increase in downforce at 155 mph compared with the stock ZL1.
To achieve those results, GM’s development team combined resources from its aerodynamics center in Warren, Michigan, and its motorsports facility in Concord, North Carolina. Insights from NASCAR design and high-speed race testing influenced many of the aerodynamic improvements featured in the new kit.
The Camaro ZL1 remains one of Chevrolet’s most powerful production models, equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 producing 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Offered with either a six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission, it continues to represent the pinnacle of modern American muscle performance.
Pricing details for the Camaro ZL1 Carbon Performance Package have not yet been released, but Chevrolet says the upgrade will be available soon through official Performance Parts channels.
