GM Issues Service Bulletin for 2025 Corvette Braking System

GM announces a service bulletin for 2025 Corvette brake master cylinders after reports of poor braking and dashboard warnings.

General Motors has issued a new service bulletin affecting several of its 2025 models, including the Chevrolet Corvette, following reports of braking issues that could impact vehicle performance.

The bulletin, which also applies to the Cadillac XT4, Chevrolet Equinox, and GMC Terrain, addresses potential problems with the brake master cylinder. GM says affected vehicles may experience reduced braking performance, a limited top speed, and a malfunction indicator light (MIL) illuminating on the dashboard.

The issue affects multiple 2025 Corvette variants, including the Stingray (base and Z51 trims), the hybrid E-Ray, and the high-performance Z06, but does not include the upcoming ZR1’s J58 and J59 braking systems. GM has not disclosed how many vehicles are impacted, but it characterized the affected group as “small,” suggesting only a limited number of replacements will be necessary.

Dealerships have been instructed to replace faulty master cylinders, with estimated repair times varying by model. The Stingray Z51 requires approximately 4.2 hours of labor, while the base Stingray, E-Ray, and Z06 need around 3.2 hours for the procedure.

The bulletin arrives as Chevrolet prepares to close out production for the current Corvette model year within the next three weeks. Owners experiencing any of the listed symptoms are advised to schedule service appointments immediately to ensure safe operation.

While no accidents or injuries have been reported, the bulletin underscores the importance of routine maintenance and prompt attention to dashboard warning lights. Corvette owners concerned about the issue can contact their local Chevrolet dealer for inspection and repairs under the updated service guidelines.
