Gateway Bronco Unveils Shelby Sport SUV With Raptor R Power and Bespoke Design

Gateway Bronco has added a formidable new option to its lineup of first-generation Ford Bronco restomods, expanding a catalog already known for high-end builds and bold engineering swaps. The company’s latest creation, the Shelby Sport SUV, blends officially licensed Shelby branding with modern performance and a fully customized interior, positioning it as one of the most powerful and expensive Bronco-based builds to date.

The Shelby Sport SUV starts at $350,000 and is tailored to individual specifications, offering hand-crafted details and finishes not typically found in vintage off-roaders. Exterior treatments can include candied carbon fiber in multiple colors, along with traditional Shelby cues such as racing stripes and a roll bar. The debut example adopts Highland Green paint paired with exposed carbon components and custom sport wheels, creating a look that bridges classic Bronco simplicity with contemporary materials.

Its cabin continues that theme, combining modern tech with luxury-grade craftsmanship. Recaro seats wrapped in Porsche-sourced leather with Houndstooth inserts anchor the interior, while marine-grade woven flooring and a curly maple cargo bed further elevate the presentation. Infotainment updates such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity bring the Bronco’s amenities in line with modern SUVs.

Performance, however, is the centerpiece. Rather than rely on the already impressive Godzilla-powered builds the company is known for, Gateway Bronco selected the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 from the F-150 Raptor R. In this configuration it produces 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque, numbers that far exceed anything available in the Bronco’s original era. Uniquely, the engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, giving the vehicle a driver-focused character unusual for such a high-powered SUV.

Supporting hardware includes independent front suspension, anti-lock braking, traction control and electronic stability control. The result is a restomod that merges vintage Ford styling, Shelby-inspired aesthetics and supertruck performance—a blend clearly aimed at buyers willing to invest heavily for rarity and capability in a single package.
