The 1957 Chevy is arguably one of the world’s most popular classic cars, and for good reason. General Motors wanted to build an all-new lineup for that year, but manufacturing problems hindered that goal. Head engineer, Ed Cole, had no choice but to reuse the suspension system, drivetrain components, and chassis from the previous year. Cole oversaw the creation of a new dashboard, hood rockets, headlights, bumper bullets, and the iconic Cadillac-like rear fins. He also lowered the car on 14-inch wheels and redesigned the front grille to make the car’s stance appear wider. So, although the 1957 Bel Air was ultimately a carry-over from the successful ’55 and ’56 models, it was immensely popular and continues to be highly valued today.

Not only does this Bel Air Nomad look incredible, but it also includes some really sweet driving upgrades like a four-barrel carb kit and an H-pipe dual exhaust. It is powered by a 350 Small Block V8 Crate engine mated to an upgraded four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. This example even has cruise control for those longer driving trips. The car fires up eagerly, runs and drives well, and sounds like a dream. All the power is stopped via drilled and slotted disc brakes behind upgraded Ridler 17-inch wheels with modern grippy tires.

The stunning and vibrant red interior gives some life to the classic white exterior. The cabin includes ice-cold air conditioning so you can enjoy it all summer long, and a modern AM/FM/cassette stereo with a digital tuner for all your music needs. Plush carpeting, taut door panels, and comfy seats are just the icing on the cake. It’s not hard to see that the previous owner really gave this car the TLC it deserves, and then some. This 1957 Bel Air Nomad had a small fortune put into it, which is evident by its immaculate condition inside and out. Don’t miss your chance to own an iconic piece of classic car history.
