This gorgeous little 2CV was completely restored from top to bottom.

Midwest Car Exchange is excited to announce this 1975 Citroen 2CV Special (or “Deux Chevaux”, two horsepower) up for sale. In essence, it’s a French Volkswagen Beetle; these vehicles incorporate the same simplicity and utility as the Beetle's, but with an added French flair. While the build quality may not be the same, the Citroen is a French motoring icon that delivers plenty of smiles per gallon, even if it isn’t the quickest car out there. This example is a perfect entry point to French collector cars, and it’s among the simplest cars in the world to work on. You can easily remove the two-cylinder engine by merely by picking it up; no lift is needed here.

The 2CV enjoyed a surprising career. It gained popular approval in the rural world thanks to its go-everywhere soft suspension that can barely detect pesky speed bumps. This dates back to one of the car’s original odd-design specs that it was able to carry a dozen eggs across a farmer’s field without cracking. The car also can miraculously fit four adults comfortably, despite its small size. The 2CV’s low unbeatable price was another selling point for consumers.

This beautiful two-tone red-and-white 1975 Citroen 2CV was fully restored from top to bottom and maintains a very solid and rust-free body. During the restoration, each part was taken apart and painted in urethane with all-new wiring and weather-stripping. The engine and transmission, along with the suspension and brakes were all rebuilt as well. The interior is complete with a new canvas top, correct floor mats, a restored dashboard, and just a little over 16,000 kilometers on the odometer.

Other interior features include a mounted shifter, heater and defroster controls, operational cabin light, and a full set of seat belts with shoulder harnesses. Once the car was finished, it was placed on display in an Oklahoma RT66 museum, where it remained until the museum closed in late 2018. It is now available to buy and enjoy on the daily and at car shows or cruise nights.
