This ’68 Thunderbird will steal the spotlight with its aggressive stance and suicide doors. It boasts an older restoration with a solid interior and newer vinyl top. It sports just the right look for a vehicle that has just celebrated its 50th birthday and is ready for 50 more. The custom paint contrasts the body lines beautifully for an elegant, yet aggressive look that was surely Ford’s intent with the Thunderbird. The color appears to be somewhat of a dark emerald metallic that shines beautifully in the sun, yet maintains a dark demeanor.

This Thunderbird was completely redesigned a year ago, dramatically changing the looks of it and taking it to a new level. The handsome interior offers accommodations for five, which is what full-sized cars were all about. The cabin features attractive leather-look vinyl seat covers and door panels to give it that upscale look and feel. The well-designed interior also has a retro-sound radio to give you the latest Bluetooth technology in a period-correct package. This four-door sedan is a nice find and makes for an awesome cruiser, especially with that giant back seat that can comfortably seat full-sized adults.

This stunner is powered by a period-correct 450-cubic inch V8 motor, which makes plenty of torque and moves this machine effortlessly. There are less than 500 miles clocked on the rebuilt engine; in other words, it’s got its whole life to look forward to. The car fires right up, offers a smooth idle, runs great, and emits a tantalizing V8 burble from the twin tailpipes. It is solidly detailed and has a great look with proper Ford Blue on the engine, along with a factory air cleaner with the correct 429 decal on top. The engine is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission that shifts easily, gives it a smooth luxury car feel, and feeds a heavy-duty 9-inch rear end. This example also boasts solid floors and power front disc brakes, too. The entire build rides on Cragar 50th anniversary edition wheels wrapped in fat 235/70/15 tires to give it a super sporty look.
