A radically reimagined 1964 Chevrolet Corvette is now up for sale through Volo Cars, blending classic C2 styling with modern performance in a build that pushes far beyond factory limits.

Listed at $279,998, this custom Corvette represents a full transformation rather than a restoration. Built with the idea of what a mid-year Corvette might look like if engineered today, the car combines contemporary power, updated chassis engineering, and extensive design modifications into one cohesive package.

At the heart of the build is a GM Performance 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 producing 480 horsepower, paired with a TCI 6X six-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle-shift capability. That combination alone signals this isn’t a traditional vintage Corvette—it’s a modernized machine designed to be driven hard.
A C2 Body, Completely Reworked
Visually, the Corvette keeps its recognizable mid-year silhouette but has been heavily modified. The body has been widened throughout, including the doors, creating a more aggressive stance while maintaining a factory-like appearance.

Finished in Daytona Gunmetal Pearlized paint, the car features a stinger hood, integrated chin spoiler, widened bumpers, and additional taillights. Even small details—like C1-style trim accents and custom exhaust outlets—add to the layered design approach.
The stance is set by Schott wheels wrapped in performance tires, giving the car a planted, modern look that contrasts sharply with its 1960s origins.
Modern Chassis, Modern Driving Experience
Underneath, there’s little left from 1964. The car rides on a completely custom chassis with C4 Corvette suspension components, coilover shocks, and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. A Dana 44 rear end with 3.54 gears helps put the power down, while a custom exhaust system exits through four center-mounted tips.

The result is a driving experience far removed from the original C2 platform—closer to a modern performance car than a vintage cruiser.
Interior Built for Comfort and Performance
Inside, the Corvette features a fully custom Merlot leather interior with extensive sound insulation and modern amenities. C6 Corvette seats, custom instrumentation, and a paddle-shift system bring a contemporary feel to the cabin.
Additional upgrades include a custom audio system, tilt steering column, and integrated climate control components, making the car usable in a way original mid-year Corvettes often aren’t.
A Six-Figure Build Without the Wait
According to Volo Cars, builds of this level could cost around $600,000 to replicate today, putting this example at less than half that figure. Whether that estimate holds or not, the level of detail and modification is clear.

This isn’t a purist’s Corvette—it’s something entirely different. A restomod taken to the extreme, built for someone who wants classic looks with modern performance and doesn’t mind rewriting the rulebook to get there.
