Velocity has announced plans to build just five examples of its reimagined 1992 Ford Mustang Fox Body LX next year, positioning the project as one of the most exclusive modern interpretations of the beloved third-generation Mustang. The company has already opened reservations, with the first available build slot carrying a starting price of $279,900.
Known for blending classic automotive styling with contemporary performance and engineering, Velocity’s latest project transforms the Fox Body Mustang into a highly customized machine designed to deliver modern driving dynamics while preserving the character that made the original model a favorite among enthusiasts.
At the heart of the build is Ford’s Gen 4X 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine, a powerplant that has become a popular choice among performance enthusiasts thanks to its combination of reliability, power and modern technology. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, creating a drivetrain package that significantly modernizes the driving experience compared with the original early-1990s Mustang.
The vehicle’s foundation has also been completely reworked through the use of a Roadster Shop Spec chassis. The upgraded platform is intended to provide improved handling, structural rigidity and overall performance, elevating the Fox Body well beyond its factory capabilities.
While the company has not released extensive details regarding exterior colors, trim options or interior configurations, prospective buyers are being offered the opportunity to customize those elements as part of the build process.
